The depletion of mining resources forces the industry to process more heterogeneous and complex orebodies. inherent heterogeneity these orebodies their relation processing recoveries have received considerable interest in recent years. properties ores, such as mineral composition association, are known affect flotation performance. Even ores with similar compositions can vary significantly regarding texture, where same minerals occur different forms. Therefore, very careful geometallurgical planning is needed overcome recovery losses. Glencore’s Mount Isa Copper Operation has reported historical difficulties decreasing copper losses associated natural floatable pyrites. Understanding rock naturally pyrites how they relate chalcopyrite crucial for concentrator operations. geometallurgy team looking proxies predicting improve mine planning.
